When you’re going to find (and you found) this kind of posts (about a single editorial / photo session / etc – btw “@ posts”), well, these are not generally about the model, but about what you’re going to find by itself.
So, here the thing is quite clearer. I’ve got such a huge enthusiasm for Maaike, but this, well, disappointed me – and not a little actually.

Once we say “Great for her to be in Vogue Turkey”, and bla bla bla in this direction, well, the point is… it’s just like being on a bus. If you get out at the wrong stop, well, the city is still great and amazing (ok, if it really is… hope you’re in Paris…), and the disappoint is just about being in the wrong part of the city.

About Maaike, well, I guess this is the classic – right (and "right" doesn't express "how much right" Maaike is...) girl in the wrong place.
This editorial was perfect for such a “pure cuteness” girl, with delicate features and soft expressivity; for Maaike… well, kind of happy for the “where” (Vogue Turkey editorial), but not that much about the “how”… but as usual, you know, optimistically the good is: a good chance to do a lot of other good things for sure.

How do I use to say, “quick and painless”?; no, this is going to be quick and somehow quite painful. Btw just a PS for this.

PS Oh, well, wait a second: “agency’s choices about tests direction have been so well-chosen” was absolutely about SPS, and “a little bit less” about some Women recent tests – for the record, Maaike, Amy P. and Auguste A. recent tests (just an example – btw by Demarquet; not his fault, not at all, I like his works) in Paris are, no offence intended, pure lack of personality highlighting; and something I’d have done without so easily.

Especially for three charming and (most important) peculiar girls like these. And if we talk about the “Dutch duo”, beauty (and attitude) peculiarity / amazing posing / outstanding personality are strong points, more than “pretty cuteness” for sure.
-oh well, and even if not here, "the whole story" is good for Rachelle P. too… with Maaike, they’re the Dutch answer to Starsky & Hutch… or Thelma & Louise… or Chip & Dale… or… just anything with an “&” in between! :)

Ok, very first thing: I hope you know what “Dutch treat” is, or inventing this title would be a total waste of the 37 seconds it took me to do that… btw “Dutch treat” is “An outing or date in which each person pays his or her own expenses” - and you can really think that’s wonderful (nooo, you don’t have to be stingy!)… :)

Then, in this case, “wonderful” refers to Dutch treats, with “treat” meaning “something that causes special pleasure or delight”. And, for fashion new faces, Netherlands is a “nest” for bunches of wonderful and delightful surprises lately – especially SPS.

Maaike is one of those and, from my point of view, one of the best. She’s got the “stunning personality / outstanding attitude / unconventional charming beauty” trademark of the best Dutch latest new faces.

And I absolutely have to underline that agency’s choices about tests direction have been so well-chosen.
Well, from my point of view, some Jonathan Waiter and first of all Anouk Morgan tests are more than good for some models – they’re pure “doping” (yep, absolutely like EPO for cyclists!), and I have to admit sometimes they’ve been “killer pics” wisely distant from girls real potentialities (we’ll see that in other occasions).
But this is not the case.

So, even if I have to admit (let’s say this quick and painless…) her catwalk experiences didn’t look constantly convincing (it’s been about her presence by itself, not walk or attitude), well, this girl is pure gold in front of the camera. And the best unquestionably still has to come.
